The Throes of Life (A Poem)

In the throes of life, we may be uncertain,

But one thing’s for sure,
There is a creator above,
Who loves and cherishes each of his children…

When life throws you a hard chapter,
Remember the wisdom of your every experience,
Remember what you’ve prayed for throughout the years,
And look around you to see them fulfilled…

In a moment of weakness, we may feel unworthy,
Lack of confidence,
Self-conscious,
Or lost in a state of unknown,
But look down at your two feet and remember they are a gift,
Look at your two hands with palms open and ask,
What can I do?
How can I seize this moment and cherish the opportunity?
This moment, a gift from the master of the universe…

Form a plan,
Take the bull by the horns and live each moment as if it was your last…
Worry not,
Fear not,
For time does not follow your emotions…

Live each moment with a whistle in the wind,
A howl at the moon,
A midnight prayer with the stars above…

Look out into the great cosmos and appreciate the gift of vast proportion,
That your life is so uniquely beautiful that only you can see it in full view…

That even in a moment of pain there is beauty to be found.
Not in the darkness but in the absence of light,
There is an opportunity to shine…
So, fear not for the light that has yet to shine,
And feel no sorrow for the candle of dwindle,
And enter this moment with truth and conviction,
That you hold a torch of beauty,
Surrounded by emanating light,
Vivid flames,
With sounds of music and drums,
And as you light this torch it gives way for the music to follow.

So seize the moment,
Seize the day,
Cherish the life in this very instance,
And feel your way into bliss…

Let the moment take you away,
Speak the words of King David,
Speak a psalm of distinction,
And spill your heart before the heavens…

For it is in this moment that you will find,
The answers you seek,
The strength to proceed,
The emergence of time,
And the gift of life infused into each and every breath you take…
